Children's Testimonials

"Me and my friend used to fall out most playtimes. We would usually feel sad and angry with each other. The teacher said we should find different friends to play with but I really like my friend when we get along. Mrs Ison taught us about how we think in different ways and this has helped us understand each other better and we fall out a lot less now".

Sam, aged 11

"Wow, Miss, look! I got her [fellow pupil] worry down from an 8 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10!"

Ellie, aged 7

"I like the wiggly eye bit".

Maeva, aged 4, talking about eye movement therapy

“I went to see Debbie when my mum said that my anxiety was stopping me from doing the things I enjoyed. I was afraid to walk to school in case a stranger kidnapped me, I was even worried that I might be taken in a supermarket. I used to worry all of the time but then I started working with Debbie and she showed me loads of different ways to take control of my thoughts and I feel so much better now. I am confident in myself and my abilities. I now feel safe to be on my own. She even helped me to eat a variety of foods because I have always been a very fussy eater".

Ollie, aged 13

"I used to worry about germs but now I can do what she [Debbie] has shown me and I now know germs are okay and I only need to wash my hands until they are clean. I know as well that I can tap on my worries to make them go away and I can change the bad thoughts in my head".

Vitorijas, aged 9

"We can look after people".

Albert, aged 8 talking about his experience with Therapy In Education

"We can do therapy. I use it at playtime to help my friends’ sometimes".

Lottie, aged 6

Testimonials

"I have had the pleasure of training under Debbie Ison, who is an experienced, engaging and inspirational therapist and trainer. As a doctor and parent I am fully aware of the struggles children have accessing timely NHS mental health services. I therefore have no doubt as to the positive contributions her courses will make for our children’s mental wellbeing.

I would highly recommend her to any service providers who place great importance on enhancing the mental and emotional wellbeing of children".

Dr Annette Chester: Doctor of Medicine, trained in Hypnotherapy and Reiki by Debbie Ison

"The skills Debbie teaches literally are life changing, not least in giving you the tools to “self help”, but also to establish yourself as a capable, experienced practitioner.

I left behind a corporate world to train as a clinical hypnotherapist, and have taken part in, and ran many training sessions.

Debbie is by far the most competent and engaging teacher I have ever experienced. Her vast professional experience in the field, the range of skills and techniques she practices and her teaching skills combine to create a truly first class course. She tailors each teaching session to the skills and aptitudes of her students and skilfully ensures we all learn thoroughly, despite having a range of backgrounds/experiences and learning styles.

Thanks to the diverse techniques and thorough grounding in both a wide breath of theoretical and practical element’s that Debbie ensures all of the students experience before graduating I feel confident to begin my practice".

Louise Robinson: Hypnotherapist and Reiki practitioner trained by Debbie Ison

"I have had the pleasure of doing hypnotherapy and reiki training with Debbie Ison. Her teaching is succinct, always relevant and extremely clear. Debbie uses different approaches to appeal to students' different learning styles. Her training is very hands on, thus giving her students lots of practical ideas that can be used with clients.

In today's stressful world, more and more children are struggling with their mental health. As a former teacher, I strongly believe this needs to be addressed in schools, to give children the tools to be able to cope with today's pressures.

Debbie is a very highly trained practitioner who is able to deliver strategies to teachers who will then be confident to nurture children's mental health, thus reducing anxiety, depression, self-harm and even suicide. I cannot recommend Debbie enough. She is a gifted tutor, able to teach both children and adults. I believe any training done in schools will be of a very high standard. Teachers need to be trained if they are to help today's children grow up to become confident adults in the future".

Mrs Zita Riglar: Primary School Teacher who has recently re-trained as a therapist

"I have known and worked with Debbie for many years.  She is a true professional and highly skilled in her area of work.  The prospect of working with Debbie in school settings is a very exciting one.  She is warm and welcoming with her clients with a tremendous level of professionalism.
As a teacher who has worked in a variety of primary, secondary, freelance and university settings over my nearly 10 year teaching career, I am a strong believer in training staff and students alike in both sides of emotional and mental health wellbeing.  The increasing changes in all education sectors means that all staff should be made aware of challenges and pressures impacting young people; and in the same way, it is vital that young people are aware of strategies in making sense of the thoughts, feelings and emotions of both themselves and that of their fellow students.  Debbie’s skill in these areas and her work within the education sector mean that she is a great practitioner for delivering mindfulness, emotional wellbeing and guided support for both staff and students".
